The Supreme Goddess of Fortune, Srimati Radharani expands as Sri Mahalakshmi in the Vaikunta planets. The Goddess Mahalakshmi is all-auspicious, and Her favor is sought after by all living entities in both the material and spiritual universes. Seated at the foot of Lord Narayana, She represents all the auspicious qualities of the Supreme Lord that endear Him to the devotees… indeed, it is these qualities that the Lord Himself finds enticing and attractive, as these spring from His hladini sakthi, variously translated as “pleasure” or “internal” potency.
Sri Mahalakshmi is seated in Lord Narayana’s heart, yet She renders service to His lotus feet. She bathes His feet, and wipes it with the tresses of Her own hair. She embodies the perfection of devotion through paada sevaanaam, or rendering service to the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord (one of the nine types of devotional service to Lord Krsna).
The following is a verse from the Sri Venkateshwara Prapatti stotra. Those who daily hear the recitation of the Sri Venkateshwara Suprabhatham may find this verse familiar, as most renditions of the suprabhatham are followed by recitations of the prapatti stotra, lastly followed by the mangalaashaasanam verses. Enjoy!

I salute Goddess Lakshmi, who is the Queen of the Universe, who is the most beloved of Vishnu, the Lord of Venkatachala (Tirupati), who is fond of dwelling on His chest, who is the promoter of His forgiving nature, who has hands decorated with lotuses, who is seated on a lotus in the posture of a lotus (padmasana), who shines with virtues like mercy and who is the Mother of the Universe…
